Beginners Course

Learning to cut glass

Practice on clear glass off cuts.

Straight cuts, gentle curves and sharp curves.

Both internal and external curves.

Cutting accuracy. Grinding.

Practice fitting pattern pieces together.

Learn to apply foil and soldering techniques.

Tack soldering and running a bead.

Project (Two Pieces)

Make a simple Sun Catcher and a Window Corner  using techniques learned above.

Advanced Course

Project One

Make a Jewellery Box using clear and coloured glass for practical experience.

For this project you will have the chance to design your own pattern for the lid.

Project Two

Make a simple Lampshade. Learn the basics of constructing a lampshade.

A selected choice of coloured glass is available.

Project Three

Learn to design, develop and make a cutline or cartoon (pattern).

Make a Window or panel (approx 12" x 12") using lead came. Cut and shape lead.

Solder leaded joints. Weatherproofing. Finishing and polishing.

General Notes

All tools and equipment are supplied by the studio for your use.

All materials (glass etc.) are included in the price of the course.

Course Costs

Beginners Course : A deposit to secure your place and for all materials      £15.00
Advanced Course : A deposit to secure your place and for all materials      £50.00

Each 2 hour lesson thereafter will be   £12.00

Rather than a fixed time and or cost for the course where students feel under pressure to finish

the projects, we have adopted the £12.00 per 2 hour lesson system. This allows student the

flexibility to work at their own comfortable pace.
All lessons MUST be booked and PAID for in advance.
